WIC:
for Women, Infants and Children
WIC is a nutrition education program that provides food for pregnant or nursing moms, their babies, and young children in order to meet the extra nutritional needs of pregnancy and early childhood.
We can help you find nutritional resources and counseling. Help with information about pre-natal care and breast-feeding issues is also available, including breast pumps.
To those who qualify, WIC provides vouchers to buy foods that help keep women and children healthy and strong. When shopping, you can use the vouchers to buy these foods at your local market.
Although this program is specifically designed to meet the needs of mothers and children, we encourage fathers, grandparents, foster parents and other guardians to apply for WIC for their children.
Use WIC vouchers to get:
- Milk
- Cheese
- Eggs
- Dried beans or peas
- Fruit juice
- Peanut butter
- Cereal
- Infant formula
You are eligible if you:
- Live in Oregon.
- Are a pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding woman,
- an infant or
- a child under 5 years old.
- Have a nutritional need.
- Have a household income that meets the WIC income guidelines.
You are income eligible for WIC if you get TANF, Food Stamps or the Oregon Health Plan.
